Solid Wood Slices / Stands

I’ve had the pleasure of speaking with Robert Burns, who is based in Worcester. He makes adorable plinths and stands.

I asked him if it were feasible to create some slices for me, so that I might display some accent plantings on. Robert has very kindly created three superb slices. One is an Oak and the other two are Burr Walnut.

I have included this on my site as I have been so pleased with the quality of these slices. Robert can make you almost whatever you decide and I would urge you to contact him with your enquiries.

Robert Burns contact details are:

He can make plinths to order and each can be coloured dark oak, light oak or mahogany. Each can be waxed or varnished. All he will require is a paper template to make you whatever shape you may require.

I must say the flatness of each piece is amazing. All I have done is coloured the edges to make the green soft base blend and not show. I’m sure Robert could quite easily leave the soft covering off if you so wish. I shall certainly be ordering a lot more from Robert in the future. Already a visitor to my workshop today has asked if I would sell all three to him!

I’ve included random accent plantings in Erin pots which are in the region of 10-12cm wide and 6-8 deep. this way you can see how small Robert can go with these stands. I believe he is more than happy to send worldwide but you would need to discuss postage costs with him directly. I am not selling for Robert, purely promoting what he does for you to speak to him directly via the contact details above.

The lighter coloured largest slice is in light oak. The other two smaller ones are Walnut.
